You are invited to attend the first ever Chris Belfoure Memorial 5K Run in beautiful Essex, CT. Proceeds benefit the Christopher R. Belfoure Memorial Fund to integrate multicultural and foreign language programs into schools.
Chris died tragically on July 3, 2011, at the age of 24. He was a graduate of West Virginia University in 2010 with a degree in history and Chinese culture. He was fluent in Mandarin Chinese and spent almost two years living and working in Shanghai. Chris was also a committed environmental activist, working with Citizens Campaign for the Environment during the summer to educate CT residents about important environmental and public health issues. Chris is remembered as a dedicated professional and a great friend, and will be greatly missed by the whole CCE family.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 8:45am. Registration begins at 7:00am at the Essex Town Hall. Kids Fun Run (ages 8 and under) will commence at 8:15am.
