New York's water is at risk from industrial gas drilling called fracking. Fracking requires millions of gallons of water, along with sand and toxic chemicals, to be pumped deep underground to release gas that has been trapped in shale for millions of years. Fracking poses inherent risks to our land, air, water, and people. Governor Cuomo has indicated that New York will make a decision on fracking "shortly."
