| Alec Baldwin is coming to Central New York to host a special movie screening in late spring. The "30 Rock" star will host a What the Frack? event featuring the 2010 anti-fracking documentary "Gasland." "Gasland" is a documentary by Josh Fox about energy companies attempting to lease land property for hyrdraulic fracturing, also known as "hydrofracking." The movie suggests the much-debated method of drilling for natural gas leads to polluted water and endangered lives. The film was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2011 Oscars, and Fox won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster or the Landmark Theatre box office at $22 for general admission or $12 with student ID. |
