Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Cornell Cooperative Extension have partnered to conduct an educational program, Sound Gardening: Why Your Grass Choice Matters. This program is designed to provide essential information on how different types of grass seed choices make a difference in protecting water quality.
Long Islanders love green lawns, but lawns can also be a source of pollution into our Long Island Sound. Fertilizers and pesticides can run off of lawns, polluting rivers, streams, and tributaries that drain to the Long Island Sound. Your choice of grass seed can help address this problem.
To get us started with our educational program, we need to know more about the lawn practices of Long Islanders. Please help us and participate in this short survey. And, please consider passing this along to others!
Thank you for your participation. Together we make a difference!
