Connecticut voters will have a unique opportunity to protect open space in our state this Election Day, Tuesday, November 6! Question #2 on this year's ballot proposes a constitutional amendment requiring public input before public lands can be sold, swapped, or given away by the CT General Assembly (CGA).
Without the amendment proposed in question #2, public lands will continue to be given away by the CGA in backroom deals, with no public input at all. Prospective land donors, users of public lands, and citizens who believe in government transparency all have a stake in ensuring that our public lands not be given away, swapped, or sold without an open, public process. You can help ensure transparency and public participation on issues relating to Connecticut's precious open spaces by voting "Yes" on question #2 at the polls!
Find out more about the constitutional amendment by visiting the website of our friends at CT Forest & Park Association. Don't forget to vote "Yes" on question #2 on November 6!
Thank you for taking action. Together we make a difference!
