Geddes, NY - Honeywell representatives will unveil plans for the "Geddes Lakeshore Enhancement Project" at 7 p.m. today at the Lakeside Fire Department, 1002 State Fair Blvd., Geddes.

Honeywell officials will present their plans on what the lakeshore area off Route 690 west in Geddes will look like after a dredging project is completed. They also will discuss future opportunities for public access to the site.

The site will serve as the staging area during the dredging of roughly 2.63 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment. The dredging is scheduled to start in 2012 and continue for five years.

Honeywell officials have reached out to various groups since August asking for comments and feedback on what the public wants to see and do at the site.

Tonight they will discuss their ideas on the future use of the site, said Dereth Glance, executive program director of the Citizens Campaign for the Environment.

"It's very exciting," said Glance, who also is chair of the Onondaga Lake Bottom Community Participation Working Group. "This is a visible gateway to our community."

The public is invited to attend tonight's meeting.
