Partially Treated Sewage Flowing into Nassau Waterway

EAST ROCKAWAY — The Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant is leaking 65 million gallons of partially treated sewage into a nearby waterways every day, according to officials. The leakage is due to damage from Hurricane Sandy that will take time to repair, sources said. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said the leakage is no threat to public health, and that drinking water is safe. FiOS1’s Tamani Wooley reports.
