Members of Operation Splash, an environmental group, are calling on Nassau County to modernize the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant. County officials are seeking nearly $1 billion from the federal government to fix the aging facility. Hurricane Sandy damaged critical pipes at the plant, sending millions of gallons of untreated sewage into nearby streets and homes. FiOS1’s Tamani Wooley reports.
