Rally for Renewables

Several East End environmental organizations are joining together for a “Rally for Renewables,” at which they intend show the LIPA board and Governor Cuomo there is public support for renewables and in particular for offshore wind power.

According to an e-mail from the East End Climate Action Network (eeCAN), “This is the final board meeting before a decision is made on an offshore wind farm that will power more than 120,000 homes and create hundreds of jobs on Long Island. Our presence will show LIPA, this is their chance to make a bold investment in renewable energy.”

The Sierra Club, Citizens Campaign for the Environment, NYPIRG, various elected officials and others will be present.

The Rally for Renewables will take place on Thursday, October 30, at 10 a.m. at 333 Ovington Boulevard in Uniondale.
