CCE INVITED TO ATTEND MEETING AT THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR TO DISCUSS ONSHORE RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will meet with leaders from Government, business, and NGO’s in D.C. to discuss current and future renewable energy efforts

When: February, 9, 2011

Where: Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building, Washington, D.C.

What: The United States Department of the Interior is holding a two day workshop to bring together key stakeholders to discuss onshore renewable energy development in the U.S. Discussions will include ongoing issues related to permitting and regulations, environmental impacts, and environmental and energy policy; as well as discussions on the future of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, and how the process for their expansion can be improved.

Who: CCE Executive Director Adrienne Esposito was invited and will attend. Panelists and participants will include Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior; Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy; Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture; and leaders from the renewable energy industry, various state and federal agencies, and environmental stakeholders.
