HYDROFRACKING DAY OF ACTION APRIL 11TH, 2011

Central New Yorkers Boarding the Bus in Syracuse at 6:30 a.m.

Syracuse, NY---Over 60 Central New York residents concerned with the inherent risks from hydro-fracking for gas will be gathering to board a bus headed for the State Capitol to rally and meet with state lawmakers regarding the inherent risks of hydrofracking. Once in Albany, they will join over 500 New Yorkers from the across the state to rally at the Capitol before meeting with 180 legislators to protect our air, land, water and public health from the inherent risks of hydrofracking.


Who: Over 60 Syracuse area residents boarding the bus for the Hydrofracking Day of Action in Albany


Where: The Bus departs from the Price Chopper on Erie Blvd and Midler Ave.


When: Monday, April 11, 2011 at 6:30 a.m. The Bus returns at 7:45 p.m.


What: Opportunity for the media to film, photograph, and speak with concerned Central New Yorkers taking a day out of their lives to head to Albany to voice concerns and participate in the policy-making process. Many will have signs and will be wearing blue to show their concern for clean water.

The Hydrofracking Day of Action is sponsored by over 50 organizations statewide and provides an opportunity to demonstrate to state lawmakers the depth and breadth of concern for environmental health and quality of life adversely impacted by the rush to dirty drilling. Concerned citizens are gathering to help educate our elected and appointed officials, and to express concerns with the inherent dangers and risks associated with the hydro-fracking process.
