CONFERENCE ON GREAT LAKES OFFSHORE WIND DEVELOPMENT

Free conference to provide fact based information to public and community leaders

What: The Pace Energy and Climate Center, in collaboration with Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) and Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY), is hosting a free conference to provide accurate, fact based information related to the development of Great Lakes wind energy in New York State.

Who: Speakers include Terry Yonker, Chair, Great Lakes Wind Collaborative (keynote); Bob Berger, UB Law School (regulatory issues); Steve Metivier, Army Corps of Engineers (permitting issues); CDR Patrick Nelson, U.S. Coast Guard (boating/shipping impacts); Tim Ryan, Apex Offshore Wind (technical aspects of turbine installation); Matt Baker, AWS Truepower (resource assessment); Tom Kucharski, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise (jobs/ local economic impacts); Frank Szollosi, National Wildlife Federation (habitat); John Hecklau, EDR Companies (visual impacts); Sharon Laudisi, New York Power Authority (NYPA Great Lakes Offshore Wind project)
