CCE RELEASES THE FIRST WESTCHESTER COUNTY GROCERY STORE REPORT CARD EVALUATING STORES REUSABLE BAG POLICIES

THE RESULTS ARE IN: GRADES RANGE FROM A+ to D

Who:       Citizens Campaign for the Environment & Representatives of Stop and Shop

What:      CCE will be releasing the first “B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bag): Reusable Bag Policies at Westchester County Grocery Stores” report. The report evaluates and grades 10 grocery stores’ reusable bag policies. Grades range from A+ to D. Disposable bags litter our parks, beaches, highways, ball fields and other landscapes. They also clog storm drains, pollute our oceans, bays and estuaries, and kill wildlife. The Report Card is designed to encourage store’s efforts to encourage customers to BYOB.
