Water to Peoples: Community Meeting

  • Virtual | Open to the Public (map)

Join us for an important community conversation focused on protecting the marine life of Long Island Sound. In partnership with The Metoac Indigenous Collective, Shane Weeks, Tecumseh Ceaser, Atlantic Marine Conservation Society, and Citizens Campaign for the Environment, this virtual gathering will explore:

- Marine mammals and sea turtles found in our local waters

- Their cultural, ecological, and community significance

- Environmental challenges facing Long Island Sound

- Collaborative stewardship and ways the public can help protect these species

Participants will also learn about Indigenous knowledge systems and tribal cultural practices, and how relationship-building between communities and scientists strengthens conservation efforts.

Together, we can build understanding, foster collaboration, and take meaningful steps to protect our waters.
