CCE and our partners will be hosting a free educational meeting on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and its role in Long Island’s clean energy future
New York is a leader in the fight against climate change. Battery energy storage systems provide capacity that will reduce our reliance on fossil fuel based generated power, thereby providing significant environmental and public health benefits for Long Island. They will also help stabilize the energy grid, creating no emissions while powering thousands of homes and bringing significant economic benefits to our region. Our electricity grid was severely strained during the winter’s cold snap and this summer’s heat wave. Experts believe that extreme weather events are only going to continue to get worse. BESS can quickly deliver energy at peak demand.
Join us to learn how large-scale battery storage works and the critical role it will play in New York’s clean energy future. We will have a presentation followed by a Q&A discussion. Beer and snacks will be provided!
When: Tuesday, July 14, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: The Tap Room, 114 W. Main Street, Patchogue, NY
Speakers:
Dr. Jeffrey Seidman, Associate Professor, Vassar College
Paul Rogers, Co-founder, Emergency Safety Response Group
Thank you for joining us!
Sincerely,
